THE CHALLENGE

Traditional outreach methods often fail to engage non-English-speaking patients, leading to missed appointments and gaps in preventive care. CAIPA needed a scalable solution to reach its diverse patient population — especially Chinese-dialect speaking families — with timely, accessible messaging.

Because Standard Written Chinese transcends spoken dialects, whether patients speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Hokkien, or any of the other five major Chinese dialects, they can all understand the written characters, especially for critical information like dates and instructions. This shared written language makes text messaging a uniquely powerful tool for inclusive, effective communication.

THE SOLUTION

Dialog Health’s platform enabled CAIPA to send Chinese-language WCV reminders with an option to receive English translations. Automated workflows responded instantly to language requests, ensuring patients received messages in their preferred language.
